Christie and Hao gathered their friends and family at The Little Chapel at Haven Ridge for an outdoor ceremony, cocktails on the lawn, and a reception in the Solarium. It was a lovely way to spend a wedding day in Winston-Salem: everyone together in one place, with time to celebrate and enjoy the grounds.

Wedding photography at The Little Chapel

The Little Chapel has so much going for it as a wedding venue. The chapel has an old-world feel, the Solarium brings everyone together for dinner and dancing, and the meadow gives you somewhere to step away for a few minutes together. It feels tucked away, even though you’re still in Winston-Salem.

If you’re looking for a wedding photographer at The Little Chapel at Haven Ridge, my approach is relaxed and mostly documentary, with a little editorial guidance when you need it. I’ll help with portraits and family photos, then give you room to enjoy your wedding. You don’t need to know how to pose or spend the day thinking about the camera.

Room to enjoy your wedding day

Christie and Hao chose the meadow for their ceremony, then stayed on the property for the rest of the celebration. Having your ceremony and reception at the same venue makes the day a little easier for everyone. There’s no drive between locations, and your guests can settle in while you spend time with them.

When we plan your photography and video coverage, I like to leave a little breathing room in the timeline. We’ll make time for the portraits that matter to you, but you should also get to have a drink, catch up with your friends, and enjoy the day you’ve spent so long planning. A short walk out into the meadow can be all we need for some time together away from the crowd.

A wedding reception in the Solarium

The Solarium is one of my favorite things about a wedding at Haven Ridge. The glass walls keep you connected to the grounds while everyone gathers inside for the reception. Christie and Hao celebrated here with dinner, speeches, and their first dance, before we stepped outside for a little time in the meadow.

I want the reception to be part of your wedding photography and film, too. Once dinner is underway and the dancing starts, you can forget about posing and spend the evening with your people. We’ll keep documenting what happens as you enjoy it.

Their short wedding film brings the whole day together, with their vows and speeches woven through the ceremony, reception, and first dance. I love using a couple’s own words to tell their story. Alongside the short film, Christie and Hao have their complete ceremony to revisit. A documentary ceremony video gives you time to hear the vows in full and take in the parts of the ceremony you might have missed while you were standing up there. It’s also a lovely way to share the wedding with someone who couldn’t be there.
