How to propose at The Biltmore Estate

Abby and Jenna’s Engagement at The Biltmore Estate – Surprise!

The upper lawn at The Biltmore Estate is a gorgeous location for an Asheville surprise proposal that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic proposal, and I was excited to help these two lovely women make their dream proposal a reality.

When planning a surprise proposal, you want to be prepared with a tried and true game plan from your photographer. Jenna had reached out months before to help plan her perfect an secluded surprise proposal to her girlfriend Abby.  We arranged for me to be waiting up the hill near the Statue of Diana above The Biltmore house to capture the moment as it happened, without her partner knowing. This is one of  the best spots to propose on The Biltmore Estate for an epic view, a real moment, and a bit of space and privacy from the crowds.

When planning your own proposal on the upper lawn at The Biltmore Estate, there are a few tips to keep in mind. First and foremost, make sure to communicate with your photographer to ensure that they understand your vision for the proposal and can capture the moment in a candid, unobtrusive way. That’s what I do best!

Second, don’t forget to relax and enjoy the moment! A surprise proposal can be nerve-wracking, but remember that the most important thing is the love and connection between you and your partner. Be present and know I got you!Let your love shine through, and your candid proposal photographer will capture your once in a lifetime moment.

After the proposal its engagement session time! So always remember it feels nice to dress nice! I had Jenna tell Abby they had a fancy lunch booked for later that day so they were both looking and feeling their best. This way, the rest of the engagement photography session on The Biltmore Estate was full of that post surprise emotion and glow as well as two very well dressed partners in love!

The Biltmore Estate has so many amazing places on the grounds for your proposal and subsequent engagement photography session. From the upper lawn, the front lawn, the south terrace, the pergola, the gardens, and finally…my favorite… the conservatory. This may be the best place on The Biltmore Estate to propose in case of any sort of weather. It is always warm and dry in this beautiful space full of color and beauty all year round. Ask your proposal photographer about the best place to propose inside at The Biltmore Estate!

Overall, planning a surprise proposal on the upper lawn at The Biltmore Estate can be a truly unforgettable experience. With the right planning and a talented candid photographer, you can create a moment that you and your partner will remember for the rest of your lives.
