Special thanks to Junebug Weddings for featuring this wedding on the first day of winter this year!
When Hurricane Ian was set to arrive three days before their big day, Susan and Madison had to change their wedding plans the week of their big day. This led them to getting married at Citizen Vinyl, a vinyl pressing facility located in Downtown Asheville, NC. These two brides took on most of the planning themselves, creating a beautiful DIY wedding with a hip, classic, and romantic vibe.
Angela Kim Couture hand-made custom dresses for both brides. Susan and Madison had their dream wedding attire made by Angela Kim Couture. Neither bride saw the other’s attire until their first look at The Grove Arcade in Downtown Asheville, but Angela made sure they were coordinated—even though each bride had two different styles. Susan and Madison worked with Angela for months to refine their perfect fit.
Citizen Vinyl, the hip Downtown Asheville Wedding venue, was adorned with pampas grass which acted as their ceremony backdrop. It was installed the night before. Even the corn hole boards used during the reception were custom-made by the couple and their families.
Congratulations to Susan and Madison on their Citizen Vinyl Asheville wedding! They chose an indoor venue, gem tones for their color palette, dried pampas and flowers, rich rugs, soft seating areas strategically placed to have a warm cozy feeling among the beautiful fall landscape. Three days before the wedding, Hurricane Ian decided to make a path straight for Asheville. Susan and Madison were forced to move their wedding indoors and found Citizen Vinyl to host the event. They quickly sprinted into creative mode, where they transformed a vinyl pressing facility/coffee & cafe bar into their dream wedding.
Since these two brides were forced inside for a last minute change to their Asheville wedding, they booked an adventure session in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is the best place for outdoor formal wedding photography in Asheville. We trekked up the Blue Ridge Parkway to Looking Glass Falls and Black Balsam. Here are their wedding photos from the great outdoors.
Congrats again to Susan and Madison. Thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer for this important day. As an Asheville native I love photographing weddings all over this city. From this downtown record pressing venue to the mountaintops of the Great Smokey Mountains in Western North Carolina. Here are some fun examples of photography of their wedding reception and the record vinyl press inside the factory.
