There’s something timeless about the Biltmore Estate—a place where the light moves slowly through the gardens, and the architecture feels like it belongs to another world entirely. For proposals and engagement sessions, it’s one of my favorite places to photograph.
Every story here feels cinematic. The rolling Blue Ridge Mountains, the quiet corners of the Italian Garden, the way the evening light hits the Lagoon—it all becomes part of the narrative.
This session was especially meaningful. The couple, originally from Korea, brought such warmth and grace to the day. I lived in Korea for two years, and it was deeply special to reconnect with that part of my life through their story. Being able to speak a few Korean phrases during the shoot—just small exchanges that made them laugh—made the experience feel personal and connected in a way I’ll never forget.
As an Asheville-based photographer, I’m drawn to moments that feel alive, cinematic, and unforced. I want my images to look like scenes from a movie—emotional, intentional, and full of atmosphere.

The Biltmore Estate is more than a backdrop—it’s a living story. Its architecture feels like Europe, while the surrounding mountains and gardens add a soft, organic texture that balances the grandeur.
For couples who love creative, editorial, and film-inspired photography, the estate offers endless possibilities. The soft glow of light through the Conservatory, the dramatic stonework of the South Terrace, and the still reflections across the Lagoon all lend themselves to imagery that feels both timeless and cinematic.
My approach is simple: create space for natural connection, then shape the light and composition so every frame feels like it belongs in a film still—elevated, yet completely genuine.

Some of my favorite scenes to photograph here include:
Each location offers a new tone, like changing scenes in a film—soft romance, quiet connection, and the occasional grand, cinematic reveal.

Because the estate is privately owned, a photography permit is required for all professional sessions. I guide couples through the process and help plan timing, light, and flow so it all feels seamless.
For proposals, I often scout locations in advance, mapping out where to stand, how to move, and how to make the surprise feel natural and easy.
Tips for the best experience:

My style blends cinematic storytelling with fine-art composition—intentional framing, layered light, and a focus on real emotion. I want your photos to feel like they could belong in a film—beautiful, authentic, and timeless.
A typical session lasts around 90 minutes, giving us time to explore, slow down, and find natural rhythm. I direct gently when needed, but mostly let moments unfold—the way a movie scene might, between dialogue and quiet glances.
With this Korean couple, the evening light filtered through the gardens as we walked, talked, and shared a few phrases in Korean. There was laughter, stillness, and the kind of connection that reminds me why I love what I do. It felt like capturing a story that already existed—just waiting to be seen.

Whether you’re envisioning a cinematic engagement session at golden hour or a heartfelt proposal among the gardens, the Biltmore Estate offers a setting unlike anywhere else.
